A lot of you guys living in Seoul are most likely familiar with the popular Craftworks Taphouse located in Itaewon (also located in Pangyo). Owner Jamie F. Kembrey originally started his restaurant business with an Italian restaurant called JFK Bistro back in 2010. However, people rarely came around so he changed his concept to an American style taphouse in July, 2013 with creative craft beers named after mountains in Korea such as Halla Mountain Golden Ale and Namsan Pure Pilsner. The rest is history as Craftworks Taphouse has become a popular hangout for expats and locals. I heard a lot of good things, especially with their craft beers, so Christine and I decided to check it out for a Saturday brunch.
We arrived at an odd hour (around 2pm) but didn't expect it to be this quiet.
One order of Craftworks Burger
And an order of Mediterranean Greek Salad
Jirisan Moon Bear IPA & Baekdusan Hefeweizen
Beautiful color on that beer
Didn't think Christine would like the darker IPA but she actually liked this better.
Greek Salad. Added grilled shrimp for 4,000 won.
Craftworks Burger
Your classic burger topped with pulled pork.
Patty looks a bit thin but very juicy.
I'm a bit torn about this place because the beers are excellent and the prices are pretty good considering its quality. However, I found the food to be ordinary and way too pricey. A burger for 17,000 won and a Greek Salad with grilled shrimp for 16,000 won is a bit on the high side. Not sure if we'll be returning here.
Went to Once Upon a Milkshake for dessert which was a short walk away.
