KFC 징거더블다운킹 (KFC's Zinger Double Down King Burger)

So Buzzfeed (www.buzzfeed.com) recently featured KFC Korea's Zinger Double Down King Burger - two pieces of fried chicken sandwiching a bacon cheeseburger.  Typically, I have no interest in these kind of ridiculous, calorie-horrific products but I had a sudden urge and craving to have one as I was driving home from work (thank you Buzzfeed...).

The Zinger Double Down King Burger is actually a slight modification/upgrade(?) to the current Double Down Sandwich  - a cheese and bacon sandwich between two slabs of fried chicken.  I never tried the Double Down but it was apparently a huge hit for KFC.  Anyway, let's try the Zinger Double Down King!

First of all, this burger... sandwich... whatever you want to call it is an outrageous $6,900 won (about $6.50).  But since this is only available in South Korea (as of 25 October), why not give it a try.

As far as appearance, it did not look appetizing.  This might be one of those things you should eat in vs take out because the fried chicken patty became slightly soggy during my trip home.

KFC says 750 calories... I say it's much more than that looking at all the grease.

It became a bit more appetizing when I cut it down the middle and had a chance to look at the white meat.  That actually looks pretty tasty (considering that it's fast food).

Sweet Teriyaki-type sauce on on side.

"Pepper Dressing" on the other.  Basically tasted like Ranch Dressing.

The slight spiciness of the chicken along with the combination of sweet and salty sauces did a decent job of taking my mind off the fact that I was consuming one of the most unhealthy burgers in the market.  It would be much better if the fried chicken patties were crispy so definitely eat in vs taking it to go.  I gave it a try because it's a specialty that's only available in Korea but I can definitely think of better things to buy with $6.50.
