샌프란시스코 시티 뷰 딤섬 (San Francisco City View Restaurant Dim Sum)

San Francisco.  One of my favorite cities.  What's not to love about this place?  Beautiful landscape, amazing weather, and plenty of good food in the city.  I visit San Francisco on a regular basis thanks to my best friend, Johnny, who is a successful planner at Gap Headquarters (works for Old Navy to be exact).  It's nice to have friends all over the globe- gives you a nice excuse to travel and visit your pals.

I was here on a quick visit - 2 days, 1 night - so I had to prioritize my restaurant list.  I went to the Fisherman's Wharf during my last visit so I was willing to forego the clam chowder and oysters.  Oysters are best during months ending in "ber" anyway.  I definitely wanted to hit up House of Prime Rib (this will be my next post) which is arguably the best prime rib steakhouse in America.  Then Cafe Mum's which is an all you can eat shabu-shabu place with an all you can drink beer and sake option.  We always get happy drunk at Cafe Mum's.

I landed in SF around 10am and Johnny and I immediately went to get some dim sum at a placed called Koi Palace.  If you are from the Bay Area, you definitely know Koi Palace.

This is at 11am...

#43 in line.  Told us it would be about an hour wait.

Ok.. Plan B.

Went to Chinatown in downtown San Francisco to a place called City View Restaurant.  This may not be the best dim sum restaurant in Chinatown but it was a place Johnny was familiar with.

Came back from the restroom and Johnny had already gotten several things off the cart.  Those Xiao Long Bao's were really good.

One of my favorites - Spare Ribs

Cheung Fun

One of the popular dishes here - Peking Duck.  Perfect if you want just a slice instead of the whole duck.

The duck comes with two buns.

Nice focus on my hands... Anyway, you get the picture.

Lo Mai Gai

Gai Lan

Spring Rolls

The dangerous thing about dim sum is that you want to try everything.  I wanted more but my conscious kicked in and we called it a meal.  Wonder how this place compares to Koi Palace but I was very happy with the food.  Worth checking out.
