Well, here I am on the road again, headed back to San Diego for a family event. I, like most people, prefer to fly Korean Air or Asiana Air but have you checked out their fares lately?? It's ridiculous. So here I am... a customer (victim) to the lowest bidder - United Airlines. But you know what? I've slowly come to terms with flying on United Airlines because things aren't that bad once you become a Star Alliance Silver Member. Their planes are still substandard compared to Korean/Asiana Air (no individual monitors, less leg space) but gotta appreciate the affordable fare.
Typical of a low-fare ticket, I had a 4 hour layover in Osaka (Kansai International Airport). I initially cringed but hey, what a great opportunity to get some
Beautiful, clear day in Osaka
Pretty quiet airport
The only full meal restaurant in the International Terminal
I was torn between this Negitoro/Tempura Udon Set and the Negitoro Donburi Set (below). Eventually ordered the Negitoro/Tempura Udon Set.
Nothing like drinking Asahi in Japan. Just feels a bit more authentic.
My favorite sushi after uni.
A mix of sliced green onions and otoro (fatty tuna).
Not a very big meal but just right. Not bad at all for airport food.
Did a little shopping after lunch. I love these little Japanese snacks.
Green Tea Kit-Kat
Off to San Francisco.
